Questions people ask

Short answers about permissions, data, limits, pricing and what RollGrid does not do.

Does my data leave Atlassian?

No. There is no server of ours anywhere in the path. Every read of Jira happens in your browser, and everything stored is stored on Atlassian's own infrastructure. No analytics, no third-party scripts, no outbound connections. See security.

Can someone see work items they do not have access to?

No. Reports run as the person looking at them. Sharing a report shares its definition, never its data. See sharing and permissions.

Two of us opened the same report and got different numbers.

That is correct behavior, not a fault: you can each see a different set of work items in Jira. The other possibility is that one of you has older cached results — the age is written on the report, and Refresh settles it.

How fresh are the numbers?

Up to 30 minutes old by default, and the report always says. Refresh reads Jira again. Admins can change the window. See caching and limits.

How big a report can I build?

20,000 work items by default. Above that RollGrid tells you rather than reading a silent subset — a roll-up missing children reads low. Admins can raise it.

Does RollGrid change anything in Jira?

No. It only reads. It cannot edit a work item, a worklog or a dashboard, and it never touches another app's data.

Where are the charts?

Charts come in the next update. Everything else described on this site is in the current release.

Do you do time in status or cycle time?

Not yet. It is not in this release, and nothing on this site claims otherwise.

What happens if the license lapses?

Saved reports still open from whatever was already cached, so nothing disappears while you sort out billing. Nothing new is fetched and nothing new is saved.

What does it cost?

Free for up to 10 users, then priced per user with the rate falling as the site grows. The Marketplace listing has the current bands.

We use a Connect reporting app that is being discontinued.

Atlassian ends Connect support on January 31, 2027. The move assistant reads your old dashboard gadgets and walks you through rebuilding each one, checking the totals against the old app as it goes.

What happens when I uninstall?

Everything RollGrid stored is deleted. Your Jira data is untouched. Export first.
